As you look through the Memory Magz™ with the individual(s) consider sharing opinions, stories and recollections. Does something in the picture evoke a memory for you? If so, share that and encourage them to share as well.
Together, you can identify various colors or distinguishing characteristics you see in the photo. Point out a detail in the picture and discuss it. Does the detail or characteristic remind you of something, someone or someplace? If so, share that and encourage them to do the same. Might you create your own story together using one of the photos as a guide? Use your imagination and encourage them to do the same as you develop your storyline.
If the memory impaired person struggles to communicate or doesn’t provide accurate memories, don’t be discouraged. Accept and support them in whatever way they are capable of sharing. The ultimate goal is to enjoy the Magz together, regardless of abilities and accuracy.
